We are voluntarily recalling the Acoustimass® module in the Bose® CineMate® GS Series II and Bose® CineMate® Series II systems from countries where the voltage from the wall outlet is 220 volts or higher. A component in the system’s Acoustimass® module could fail and present a potential fire hazard when operated at these voltages.

If you purchased a Bose® CineMate® GS Series II or Bose® CineMate® Series II system before 12 September 2012 and are using it in a country where the wall outlet voltage is 220 or higher, your system is included in this action. Stop using your Bose® CineMate® GS Series II or Bose® CineMate® Series II system and unplug it from the electrical outlet immediately.

Where can I find my serial number?

To confirm that you have a CineMate GS Series II or CineMate Series II system, find the product label on the back of the Acoustimass® module. Then, find the product name on the label. It should be either the "CineMate™ GS series II digital home theater system" or the "CineMate™ series II digital home theater system." The serial number to enter above is located underneath the barcode and contains 15 numbers followed by 2 letters.

The products we have supplied for use in countries where the voltage from the wall outlet is 220 volts or higher have one of these six-digit product codes: 051361, 051363, 051364, 051365, 051466, 051468, 051469, 051470, 052751, 052752, 052753, 052921, 053503, 053504, 053540, 054224, 054225, 054226, 054227, 055303, 055371, 055481, 056671, 056673, 057136, 057141, 057142, 057214, 057407, 057971. If your product label does not have one of these codes, you may consider it safe to use.
